Stanford University is seeking a Digital Community & Social Media Specialist 2 to be under minimal supervision, to build, cultivate, advocate for, respond to, monitor, and grow a digital community on behalf of, and while representing, a department. The position requires the incumbent to build clinical research participant engagement through twitter chats, reddit AMA's, and SEO and to drive forward new ways to engage the community and participant population through digital outlets. The position requires research and development of new and effective ways to reach out to the community to market clinical studies and must understand multiple research study needs to identify sources for study participants for participant recruitment. Track changes in advertisement strategy and content then correlate that with changes in participant response. Maintain close communicate with team members and supervisor to optimize recruitment. Responsible for responding to messages and comments via our social media outlets (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.). The incumbent will optimize and create adverting content for various social media platforms and analyze the effectiveness of our advertisement and recruitment strategies and will analyze and interpret social media and web analytics. Work with research teams to better understand the needs of the project at a given time and utilize that information to refine advert strategies. May instruct an intern on data monitoring and review.
Strong background utilizing social media for marketing and recruitment (preferable research related)
Proven ability/experience to analyze and interpret social media and web analytics
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and minimum 1 year of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Build digital community thorough social media channels, blogs, and the web.
Grow and engage user base.
Manage social listening efforts and report back to management.
Provide customer service to constituents across digital channels; Represent organization to constituents, campus, media.
Develop content used to engage constituents and grow channels. Curate digital content.
Compile data, analyze and Report on social media use.
Acts as internal advocate for digital community efforts, building support for social initiatives among internal stakeholders and driving digital best practices.
Contribute to overall development and refinement of digital community strategy, and innovative social initiatives.
May supervise interns, entry-level staff, and volunteers.

Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
