Weber Shandwick Chicago office is currently seeking applications for an opening within their Digital Graphic Design Internship program. Our mission is tied to one goal - winning for our clients. We develop programs designed to move people faster to the highest form of loyalty - advocacy - by mobilizing advocates for our clients early on in the communications process. A 16-week internship at Weber Shandwick is designed to provide design students and young professionals with a true learning experience and the opportunity to observe public relations professionals. Interns assist our design practitioners with day-to-day duties including: executions for online and social media applications, print designs, PowerPoint and other presentation programs, logos, and other design processes. Interns will participate in brainstorms, proposal creation and other aspects of working in a dynamic creative environment.



Responsibilities:

Social media design (Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress, blogger badges, etc.)

Basic web design, including graphic design, site navigation and content layouts for a variety of clients. (digital and print execution)

Microsite design

eblast template design/programming

Design new business proposals in PowerPoint/Keynote Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites when requested by account team

Exploration of new design platforms (Prezi.com, iPad apps, etc.)

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in graphic design communications or other discipline related to the primary responsibilities

Working knowledge of digital imaging with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver and basic HTML

Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving

Ability to work in a team and can successfully incorporate art direction and feedback from multiple sources

Preferred but not integral skills: o Illustration capabilities e.g. hand-sketch storyboards, logos o Advanced HTML, PHP, Java, etc. programming capabilities
