Job Description
The Director Account Planning will serve as the lead strategist on key agency clients and new business targets as determined by the Director of Stretegic Planning, ensuring that all creative is consistent and reflect the key insights of the target audience. He/she will provide analytical and insightful direction to the creative team to ensure that the campaign is relevant to the consumer and meets the client's business objectives. The Director of Account Planning will take the lead in the development of a team of Account Planners and oversee their role as the 'voice of the consumer' at the agency. He/she will ensure the quality of the work of Account Planners as they write creative briefs, analyze existing data, recommend research methodolgies, and construct competitive analyses for account teams.The ideal candidate will have a degree in marketing, advertising or advanced social science with specialization in the Hispanic consumer market. He/she will have at least 8 years experience in research, planning and management. MUST have worked as a lead account planner in an advertising agency environment and is knowledgeable of agency processes. He/she must be a dynamic presenter and have extensive experience in new business pitches.Must be fluent in English and proficient/fluent in Spanish (both verbal and written).Experience in the US Hispanic market is preferred including familiarity with main data sources. He/she will have a deep interest and knowledge of the human psyche, keen observation skills and self knowledge, the ability to separate personal outlooks from objective assessment of consumer behavior and attitudes, affinity towards field work and a capacity to immerse oneself in the Hispanic community at all levels to extract insights.He/she must have an interest in social developments and trends, a capacity to distill data and observations into actionable insights and prioritize for communications strategy.Must have knowledge of MS Office products especially PowerPoint and Excel and secondary databases such as Simmons, Nielson, Yankelovich, etc.
