DescriptionJohnson & Johnson Consumer Inc., a member of the J&J Family of Companies, is actively recruiting for a Director, Clinical Oral/Topical Health, located in Morris Plains, NJ. General Summary:Responsibility and accountability for providing clinical expertise, strategic insights, scientific excellence, and program management for selected programs within the Oral, Topical Health (OTH) Clinical group. Ensures alignment between clinical strategy and operational activities. Drives high quality programs that generate timely clinical results and yield excellent products. The Director, Clinical position has substantial impact on business results and has responsibility for managing (directly and indirectly) groups of professionals.Key Job Functions & Responsibilities: (but not limited to)Represents Clinical in an array of situations (internal and external meetings, advisory boards, symposia, etc) and participates in strategic decision-making for clinical development plans for the OTH organization.Builds and leads Clinical Teams with responsibility and accountability for clinical deliverables, including the Efficacy Support Plan.Accountability for clinical study designs, protocol development, and clinical aspects of study conduct, data analysis, and interpretation and reporting. Ensures quality reviews and interpretation of clinical study data across projects.Presents clinical program updates to executive management, as appropriate.Provides strategic clinical inputs to product lifecycle discussions.Responsible for clinical peer review (protocols, presentations, etc.), as appropriateResponsible for providing program-level assessments of safety, facilitation of evaluation of safety signals, regulatory compliance of safety reporting, and liaison with GMS.Plans, validates, manages and ensures clinical research processes are conducted in conformance with all relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures.Maintains current awareness, expertise, and knowledge of new scientific developments in the therapeutic areas of focusPartners with colleagues in Scientific and Professional Affairs (S&PA) on publication planning, KOL development, congress activities, advisory support, etc.Key liaison with Product Development, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Business DevelopmentResponsible for developing key clinical assumptions, risks and mitigation strategies across projectsResponsible for providing input into the goals and objectives and performance appraisals of Clinical Team membersDevelops and maintains relationships with external thought leaders, clinical investigators, medical educators, clinical research organizations, and research institutions. Key Metrics of Success:Clinical team achievement of strategic milestones relative to project plans..High quality and timely clinical development process that yields excellent study results, business results and growth.QualificationsA minimum Master's degree required. An advanced degree, M.D. or DDS and/or Ph.D. preferred.A minimum of 8 years of industry/business experience including at least 5 years in Clinical R&D experience required.Experience and knowledge of Oral Care, Topical Health/Dermatology, Wound Care, is preferred.Travel 30% Domestic and International.
