JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Director, OneLegacy Foundation and Communications (DOLFC) leads OneLegacy's efforts to effectively reach and positively influence target audiences to increase enrollment on the Donate Life California Registry and consent to organ, eye and tissue donation at the time of approach. The DOLFC is responsible for developing and implementing the overall communications strategy of the organization, strengthening both communications effectiveness within the organization and the external reach and reputation of OneLegacy and OneLegacy Foundation. This Individual will be responsible for communications for OneLegacy, day-to-day leadership of the OneLegacy Foundation, and the management of public education/events staff and foundation staff.
The Director will:
Acts as the Primary Media Spokesperson for OneLegacy and coordinate media contacts and public messaging with OneLegacy's Public Relations and Communication agency.
Leads the OneLegacy Foundation including operations, development, events, and grants and gifts.
Develops, in concert with OneLegacy Executive Leadership and external Communications Agency, and oversees OneLegacy's public relations, communications, and marketing plans; including, market research, brand development, advertising campaigns, social mediacampaigns, brand/identity development, community programs and events, creative services and hospital communications in OneLegacy's Donation Service Area, as well as the organization's publishing, online, creative services and video production capabilities.
Ensures the implementation of clear goals and objectives of the Foundation, while working particularly closely in collaboration with the OneLegacy Foundation Board of Directors, the OneLegacy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
Leverages OneLegacy's capabilities and national and international standing to further the Donate Life mission on a statewide, national and international level as opportunities arise.
Establishes strategic and operational plans; fosters and mentors a culture of meaningful metrics and measurable results; instills individual responsibility and ownership of stated goals and objectives; and collaborates closely with the Chief Financial Officer on budgets and forecasts.
He/she will be responsible for propelling the organization to a level of dramatic growth and strengthening the internal culture, along with building an environment of accountability, teamwork, open and respectful communication, trust, and dedication to OneLegacy's vision and goals.
Have company-wide responsibility for ensuring regulatory compliance with all federal, state and local authorities and for ensuring individual and departmental staff compliance with all OneLegacy programs and policies.
Potential Risk Factors:
Risk Exposure to Blood/Body Fluids: While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be exposed to blood or body fluids.
Education: Bachelor's degreerequired. Master's Degree in Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent work experiencerequired.
Experience: Minimum 5years' senior level management experiencerequired. A minimum of 3years demonstrated managerial experience.
Minimum 5years of extensive hands-on experience in all aspects of Marketing and/or Communications (or comparable experience with a communications agency or in-house equivalent).
Minimum 5years of proven leadership and results as a senior executive with broad responsibilities in a company of 100+ employees and annual revenue / budget responsibility in excess of $50 million preferred.
A self-starter with a proven track record in fund development with corresponding success in fundraising.
An understanding of the role of digital media in integrated communications strategies.
Experience working with Board/Advisory Committees and Boards.
Legislative, non-profit, healthcare and/or public relations experience, preferred.
Healthcare background, knowledge and/or experience are preferred.
Bilingual - English / Spanish (able to fluently speak, read and write English SAMPLES OF WRITINGS WILL BE REQUESTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW .
Stable work history with evidence of career progression.
Certification & License:
OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver's license and current vehicle insurance based on California minimum insurance coverage standards.
