Director of Global Communications

Position Purpose:
The Director of Global Communications is responsible for directing a variety of external communication projects that support the company's business activities in China, Mongolia and other global markets. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid strategic skills, a broad communications or public relations background and extensive project management experience. The position is based in St. Louis.
Principal Accountabilities:

Develop multi-tiered communication programs to support mine and port developments, coal conversion projects and other Peabody initiatives to build broad stakeholder support in global markets
Create multi-lingual marketing communications to build the company's corporate identity including brochures, project fact sheets, videos, exhibits, advertisements and other materials
Develop presentations, speeches, white papers or company-sponsored research documents
Direct content development and updates for multi-lingual Peabody Energy websites, including routine translations in five languages
Support the company's coal advocacy initiatives including working with third parties to develop public education materials
Assist with message development, news release preparation and media relations

Job Requirements
The successful candidate must have:

A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or a related field.
Strong writing, design and interpersonal communication skills
More than 10 years of communications experience with demonstrated success in strategic planning and project management.
Experience in industrial siting projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft word and power point.
Knowledge of the energy is helpful.
A portfolio demonstrating a range of communication projects.
