I. Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Director of Environmental Services exemplifies professional environmental service operations through education, research, coordination, staff development and management activities. The Director of Environmental Services coordinates the operations of the Environmental Services department. Responsible for fiscal, human resources, and operations functions in the Environmental Service Department. Collaborates in decision making structures and processes. Accountable for the implementation of an effective and continuous program to measure, assess, and improve performance.

II. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

B. Education: Bachelor s degree in related field preferred

C. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of environmental services management in a healthcare facility.

D. Special Qualifications: Must have direct experience with supervisory techniques and effective verbal and written communication skills.

III. Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Associate Administrator. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
