The Director, IPM Human Resources: Independence
Physician Management, LLC, is responsible for providing
HR leadership, direction, and technical expertise in a
variety of HR areas including but not limited to HR
strategy, talent acquisition process, employee
retention, organizational change, employee relations,
regulatory compliance, wage and hour, etc. The Director,
HR IPM must be resourceful and flexible to meet the
ever-changing business needs of IPM. The position
functions as an HR generalist and oversees key
organizational processes, including but not limited to:
development and interpretation of HR policies and
Employee Handbooks, partner with Company labor relations
department, assists with Corporate Legal with external
complaints (e.g., EEOC, State Civil Rights, OSHA, and
NLRB position statements, etc.), trending employee
relations data, development and presentation of HR
competency training programs, conducting regular site
visits, Market HR Manager orientation, and other
training programs, etc. Works with Local Facility
HRD/Market HR Manager to provide day-to-day HR support.
Essential Job Duties:
Understands the physician practice business model.
Consults with IPM management and provides HR guidance
and input on business unit structure, workforce planning
and physician practice acquisition integration.
Oversees and participates in the delivery of HR services
to align local Facility HRD/Market HR Manager with
market/IPM business needs.
Advises the local Facility HRD/Market HR Manager
regarding the market s talent management and employee
retention strategies.
Uses strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and
good judgment to influence the behavior/performance of
the local Facility HRD/Market HR Manager and IPM
management.
Analyzes and interprets sensitive internal and external
ER activities, including assigned Corporate Compliance
matters.
Directs the HR guidance to local Facility HRD/Market HR
Manager, and IPM Management regarding a variety of
HR-related topics, including HR policies, practices, and
emerging trends.
Partners with local Facility HRD/Market HR Manager and
Corporate Compensation team in designing, implementing,
and administering competitive pay programs as well as
monitoring internal equity issues.
Manages Corporate appeal process for internal disputes
pursuant to Dispute Resolution policy.
Manages LOA process in collaboration with LOA
administration.
Conducts periodic needs assessment to align IPM HR
priorities with IPM business needs.
Consults with local Facility HRD/Market HR Managers to
identify training needs and/or competency gaps for
staff.
Develops and executes integration plans for newly
Physician Practices.
Conducts exit surveys IPM Management, analyzes results,
and identifies trends.
Conducts HR Review/audits at Market locations,
identifies compliance issues, and constructs action
plans with IPM Management.
Ensures implementation of HR policy and Employee
Handbooks.
Designs orientation modules and orients newly hired
Market HR Managers.
25% travel
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree is required, Master s degree is highly
preferred; 6 to 8 years of professional HR experience,
preferably in a practice or acute healthcare setting.
A professional certification (or equivalent) is highly
preferred.
Must have strong HR generalist background (e.g., to
facilitate field HR operational efficiency, competency
development for Market HR Managers) 1 to 2 years
prior work experience in an HR management capacity.
HR consulting experience with multi-site and
multi-state locations.
Able to work collaboratively and effectively with the
IPM sites to achieve good outcomes.
Must be responsive in managing issues that require
timely management/oversight.
Must have prior experience managing high volume full
cycle recruitment process.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local
employment laws.
Knowledge of labor relations and union avoidance
tactics.
Must maintain sensitive employee information as
confidential.
Must have general knowledge of compensation practices
and, also, knowledge of federal and state wage and hour
laws.
Must have knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., Lawson, HR
Smart, Raz reporting)
Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft office,Word, Excel,
Power Point.
