Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION PURPOSE -The IT Director is the single point of contact and accountability for all IT services provided to an entire business portfolio. The Director is responsible for business satisfaction with all IT services and support.He/she will lead the shared testing services for Merchandising, Stores, Supply Chain, HR, EDW, IT Infrastructure. Manages over 400 testing projects per year. Manages an onshore and offshore labor workforce of up to 400 FTE. Able to optimize team to raise quality, reduce cycle time and reduce cost. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -Ensure business-IT strategic alignmentManage business relationships and monitor status of businessManage and coordinate strategic activities for staffDevelop IT plans in support of specific business objectivesDefine requirements and design for IT projects in support of key business objectivesManage IT customer service issues for business unit NATURE AND SCOPE -Typically reports to V.P. Information TechnologyAccountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates. ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION REQUIRED -The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 15 CERTIFICATES/LICENSES - PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Over 3 years experience in a director or Sr leadership capacity PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -The right candidate has at least 15 Years IT Experience, Experience leading large development teams and understands the entire SDLC, Experience Leading large testing initiatives for new, integration, and incremental development initiatives. Experience with test automation. Experience in Retail business systems is a plus. Experience with large scale distributed systems is a plus. Experience with Mission Critical/Revenue generating backend systems a plus.Experience managing large budgets. Experience managing matrixed teams. Experience leading a team through transformation change. Experience managing 3rd parties in offshore locations.Advanced Degree Preferred, MS a plus KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Exceptional prioritization and project management skills with a strong attention to detail.Strong leadership and people management skills.Ability to achieve results through influence and persuasionFamiliar with current and emerging technologies. Good understanding of financial reporting.
