Job Description

As a company leader and key member of management, reporting to the VP of Global Innovation, the Business Builder role has two main parts: as an integral part of the Innovation Center core team of leaders-driving the operations and strategic direction of the company wide program throughout Johnson Controls, and as an influential driver of the 'Enterprise Innovation Process' through leadership of Pursuit and Realization teams (the innovation teams that carry a concept to fruition).
Primary Duties:

Provide Inspiration, leadership, coaching and support to the Pursuit and Realization teams to achieve a high bar around the business plan
Provide Expertise in Business building, design, customer sensing, and team building capabilities that support, challenge and drive innovation success within all programs
Ensure the realization teams are successful (may be the executive business leader on a selected Pursuit and/or Realization teams)
Operate as an interface to Senior Leadership for reporting on metrics based goals and progression within the Innovation Center .
Facilitate certification and training process implementation.
Act as an owner of systematic approach for continuous collection of innovation/workshop feedback , outputs, tools, metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree preferred, BA or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Entrepreneurial experience preferred.
Minimum of 12 years experience in operational leadership, innovation programs, or product development/design programs
Strong project management skills and a strong business acumen
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
The ability to lead others toward building something new and achievement of a goal, with demonstrated experience building projects, processes, or organizational structures
The ability to demonstrate passionate leadership
Demonstrated ability as a critical thinker who can devise innovation solutions that fit within the context of the big picture
A proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong strategy working relationships with individuals at various organizational levels including global stakeholders, business leaders, and senior executives
Demonstrated success in navigating and networking in complex global organizations
The ability to engage and work empathetically with others
