The Institutional Private Client (IPC) operations team supports our investment manager outsourcing solutions team and is a part of our Total Operational Outsourcing solution. IPC supports investment managers processing needs by undertaking the critical role of back and middle office support; aid investment manager s platform and technology requirements by supporting or offering leading platforms; and provide a breadth of additional services to sustain and benefit the manager. The IPC operations director is responsible for supporting the Institutional and Private Client Operational Outsourcing Service initiatives. This multifaceted position will require a solid understanding of all aspects of the Investment Management Operational process.
Investment Manager Services (IMS) middle-office solutions include trade matching, communication and affirmation; corporate actions processing; investment accounting; custodian reconciliation; performance measurement, composite management and attribution; account transitions; security master maintenance; pricing; portfolio analytics; client billing; and internal, regulatory and client reporting. In addition to these core middle-office services, SEI offers enhanced middle office solutions which include collateral management, enhanced valuation services, bank loan processing, NAV confirmation, post-trade compliance monitoring and risk measurement.
SEI s back-office solutions focus on fund accounting, fund administration investor reporting services as well as treasury services, investor servicing, and trustee and custodial services to support multi-investor portfolios globally.
SEI is seeking an operations director to lead all day-to-day operational activities that support SEI s middle-office services. This is a new position within the unit that is the result of substantial growth and that will allow the incumbent director to focus on bringing new clients onto SEI s platform, executing strategic initiatives to enhance the existing platform and overseeing the unit s client service team. Reporting to the managing director for middle-office services, this multifaceted position will require a solid understanding of all aspects of the investment management operational process. The successful candidate for this new role will have a successful track record for taking ownership of operational activities, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining an operational environment that adheres to agreed policies and procedures. The Director s director s responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner consistent with the vision, goals and policies of the unit. The Director director has operational ownership and leadership for a bundle of service relationships and will be expected to work with the unit s Senior Operations Officers, other Directors and unit personnel; the product and market units; and external clients to coordinate, facilitate andis expected to execute on the delivery of a cost-focused, efficient, standardized and predictable service to the respective marketplace.
The Director role will manage the operations and be responsible for implementation and process improvement. This position will develop and enhance client relationships. In addition, this position will be responsible for growing new business and marketing services.
The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:
*Ensure the overall quality and delivery of Fund Accounting, Partnership Accounting, Investor Reporting and Administrative services in accordance with client-specific service model
*Match Alternative Product Service capabilities to clients needs
*Serve as technical and operational resource for client
*Understand, communicate and resolve unique client issues along with SEI Relationship Teams
*Identify, interpret, apply and communicate accounting and industry rules and regulations
*Create, communicate, monitor and reinforce departmental vision, goals and objectives
*Assist with the ongoing development of service capabilities for the alternative investment product offering in pace with industry demands
*Actively participate in unit s weekly senior management meetings and initiatives
*Participate in management skills training and development of staff
*Set and enforce departmental policies
*Write and coordinate fund accounting-related responses to RFP s and RFI s
*Participate in site visits and presentations to prospective clients
*Review financial statements, fund documents, etc.
*Work closely with Tax and Legal Departments on unique issues
*Provide daily oversight and review of significant threshold deviations
*Manage staff resources to ensure proper client service
*Set departmental policies and procedures related to the operational control environment
*Monitor and oversee third- party vendor performance as it relates to the daily operations
*Maintain and monitor metrics on operational processes
*Establish and follow quality control procedures
*Manage operational risk
*BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field required, MBA/MS Accounting preferred
*10+ years of industry experience, IPC preferred within an investment management operations team
*Deep functional knowledge of operational processes, procedures and issue resolution within an investment management firm across global equity and fixed-income instruments
*Knowledge of alternative instrument types, such as OTC derivatives and bank debt, is preferred
*5+ years supervisory or management experience
*Deep functional knowledge of operational processes, procedures and issue resolution within an investment management firm
*Experience either supporting or in an asset or investment management operations team
*Experience in innovation and creating meaningful business solutions

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
