RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Develops and implements internal audit programs designed to review operations and safeguard assets of VNSNY, its affiliates and subsidiaries. Develops and oversees internal control evaluations and related risk assessments across the organization. Provides consultative services to senior leadership and staff to ensure the appropriate internal controls are in place to promote accountability, efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with established policies and procedures, as well as governing rules and regulations. Oversees preparation of summary reports for the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Works under general direction.
Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
Experience: Minimum eight years of progressive auditing experience, preferably with a health plan or health care provider organization, required. Minimum of four years of experience in public accounting preferred.
Minimum of three years in a managerial role required. Strong knowledge of Internal Auditing methodologies and standards required. Demonstrated ability to assess complex processes to identify potential financial, operational, and compliance risks warranting audit attention required. Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and general understanding of enterprise risk management required. Demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills required. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP required. Demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate and process issues and creatively solve complex problems required. Demonstrated ability to lead and partner with people and get results through others required. Ability to influence and pull team together to meet project goals required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
