Job Description

Position: Director, Leisure and Luxury Sales Reporting to: Corporate Director of Sales Summary of Position: Inspire travel specialists to choose the Gansevoort Hotel Group as their top choice of hotel in locations where we have properties. Responsible for booking business from retail travel agencies, wholesale travel agencies, tour operators, on-line travel agencies, and consortia market segments. Grow the leisure and luxury sales markets with regular sales calls, sales trips, solicitation calls, client entertainment, FAMs, tradeshows and anything else identified to support exceeding revenue goals. Primary Functions: To serve as a Gansevoort Hotel Group Brand Ambassador and maintain integrity of brand standards and goals. To uphold and comply with Gatsby Standards, Coyle Standards and Gansevoort Core Values at all times. Manage a core base of top travel agency accounts in specific markets and grow their business and loyalty. Obtain new key prospects and solicit them on a weekly basis, establishing new clientele. Increase awareness and loyalty of the Gansevoort Hotel Group. Travel regularly for sales calls, tradeshows, seminars, FAM trips, etc. Meet/greet VIP clients of travel specialists. Support groups and events team by soliciting leads from agencies. Promote our restaurant and lounge events while out on sales calls. Specific Accountabilities: To uphold and comply with Gatsby Standards and Coyle Standards at all times. Determine and recommend prospective production accounts from free market information, as well as analyze information from purchased lead sources (historical and other statistical data). Regularly host site inspections and entertain clients. Strive to increase penthouse and suite sales. Conduct PowerPoint presentations. Be an active member in industry associations. Foster relationships with tourism boards, airlines and other travel professionals. Create, maintain and evaluate goals of Action Plans. Supporting travel agent relations with by cross referencing them with VIP clients. Maintain close communications with Director of Revenue, Front Office, Reservations and VIP Coordinator. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by Hotel Gansevoort Policy and Procedural Guidelines. As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and with travel and fraternal organizations. Participate in designated training programs. Achieve established leisure, consortia and wholesale room nights and revenue as outlined by agreed upon goals.
