Department: Corporate Marketing

The Director of Marketing is responsible for:
Corporate Communications
Public Relations
Advertising/Marketing
The Director of Marketing reports to: Executive Vice President and Administrator (COO)

The Director will work with administration and marketing staff to develop a public relations, communication and marketing plan for the UMC Health System (including PNS). The marketing plan may include print, television, web, radio, direct mail and social media advertising, along with measures, monitors, tracking and tools to quantify results. The Director is responsible for managing requests from the various system departments related to printing, internal marketing, and community outreach activities. The Director is responsible for assuring compliance with the budget. The Director will manage a performance system that tracks production and deadlines with regular updates on projects to department directors and administration.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. The Director and marketing staff will design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plan for the Health System with input from Administration and various department directors.

2. Support and facilitate development and implementation of business/marketing plans, specific to departments, centers of excellence or otherwise titled areas of strategic focus, which include various tools for monitoring response and results.

3. Service internal department requests to support hospital s mission to provide very good care, through creation of marketing/information packets for patient distribution.

4. Support UMC s culture of Service is Our Passion by serving internal departments in areas of rewards and recognition, promoting staff development and leadership training, employee celebrations and by publishing employee and physician newsletters.

5. Establish and monitor the marketing budget with Admin.

6. Coordinate the Health System s community outreach program, including public health screens and sponsorships, with input from various departments.

7. Oversee and manage team approach to advertising, including external communications systems, public relations efforts, external vendors and consultants (as appropriate).

8. Develop and maintain media tracking system, with routine updates to Administrative Staff, Board of Managers, and key-stakeholders of news of interest.

9. Accomplish other projects as assigned by the Executive Vice President.

10. Monitor, analyze and track performance compliance system for department to track production, capacity, and adherence to deadlines.

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree required, preferably in marketing, advertising, mass communications, design communications or a related field. Extensive experience in the management and execution of healthcare marketing plans essential.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent skills in writing, interviewing, designing and printing are required. Ability to use Quark X-Press, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and compatibility with Macintosh OS are required. Full time Bachelors Degree
