JOB DESCRIPTIONDescriptionWork as a bridge between Product planning (the Product Team and the Senior Leadership Team) and the engineering leads to plan and help document/define the Technical Epics of the Videa platform. Work with the team to develop the Technical Epics portion of the portfolio plan and the roadmap, guide the work planning process, and present the Technical Epics to leadership for prioritization. Also serve as the bridge from engineering/architecture to other Product owners by ensuring the applicable technical and architectural considerations are captured in all functional epics.
The Director will be part of a young and rapidly growing company, where roles and responsibilities continue to evolve. Responsibilities include:
Listen to Videa s technical architects and engineering leaders. Understand problems/solutions they are designing
Coordinate with them to establish reasonable action plans
Document, present, and build the backlog of technical epics for collaboration and portfolio prioritization
Work as a member of the team to identify risks. Develop approaches that minimize budget and schedule risk
Work as a member of the team to join the technical and business requirements
Develop excellent relationships with technical architects characterized by trust and open communication
Listen to customers needs and find key opportunities for innovation and differentiation for Videa
Collaborate with Advertiser/Agency and Station partners in an iterative rapid prototyping development model
Define requirements for Videa development teams and ensure business and technical requirements and timelines are aligned.
Collaborate with UX Designers to rapidly build and iterate thru low and high fidelity prototypes
Collaborate with the Videa UI/UX team to develop products with outstanding user experiences
Communicate strategy, timelines, and progress to industry leaders and all levels of the Videa and CMG organizations
Be a leader of the agile development process and define clear requirements for development and continuously improve the team s processes
Build trust across the Videa teams (Software Engineering, Operations, and Sales)
10+ years of complex consulting or technical product management experience
The desire to build world class products that delight users
Proven ability to build rapport and garner the trust of technology leaders in the company, product management and the senior management team
Proven ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts (demonstrated success where having very high technical aptitude was critical to success)
An overall knowledge base of technology and the Agile process for building software
Ability to synthesize and formulate the strategic direction based on information gathered from multiple and varied sources including technical architects, Advertisers/Agency customers, Station customers, and industry thought leaders, extensive research, colleagues in the company, and your own vision for the product
Ability to identify high impact innovations and technology foundations of strategic importance the key differentiators
Proven ability to establish a clear, phased approach and plans amidst large and complex initiatives
A track record of communicating complex technical initiatives to non-technical business leaders
Proven ability to coordinate across the entire company and establish a consensus of the technology solution without being the thought leader of the technical solution
Candidate must have a BS/BA degree with good academic results and high technical aptitude
Proven ability to accomplish project goals without expressed authority or hierarchy
