Compensation:
$99,900 to $158,400
Job Summary:
The Director, Product Marketing develops and directs the product marketing content and go-to-market plan for products. The role synthesizes market, customer, product, and competitive inputs to drive the highest revenue for the company. The Director performs activities such as pricing analysis and strategy, positioning to target segments, and packaging offerings into compelling bundles. The role also performs sales enablement activities such as the creation of sales tools and communication. The Director manages a product marketing team and performs activities such as hiring, training, coaching, and terminating.
Responsibilities:Works across all sales channels including Global, Enterprise, SMB, Online, and PartnerDefines positioning and messaging for productsInteracts with sales teams and product management to gather information for sales plays. Leads sales play definition and leads sales training on completed plays.Manages a repository of customer successes and information that can be filtered by sales playAnalyzes market and customer research and incorporates into bundling and pricingPackages products into bundles that optimize sales and revenue Analyzes product pricing, bundle pricing, and larger pricing strategiesWorks with market research to define projects to validate packaging, positioning, and pricingCollaborates with Product Management to determine product growth strategies and drives product growth to reach revenue and market share targetsLeads development of comprehensive go-to-market plansWorks with product training and sales management to ensure sales teams are trained on product offering, positioning and pricingWorks with the marketing programs organization to provide product offering, positioning, and pricing information and trainingManages staff by performing activities such as interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and terminating
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors degree
Experience:
10 years software marketing experience
AND
5 years experience in product marketing, including positioning, packaging, and pricing
AND
Experience creating and executing detailed go-to-market plans and assets (sales play development preferred)
AND
Experience in analyzing market research and customer research to incorporate into product market initiatives
Knowledge, Skill, Abilities:Cross functional leadership and team-building skills to create shared visions and accomplish team goalsDemonstrated ability in product messaging and positioningExceptional written and verbal skills and proven ability to create marketing assetsExcellent communication skills, ability to present to customers, press and analysts Demonstrated ability to lead early stage strategic marketing initiativesDistinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with seasoned business judgment and ability to communicate with highly technical management teamDemonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on
