Responsibilities:Job Specification Director, StrategyData CommunicationsTE ConnectivityPosition Location: Harrisburg or Berwyn, PA Overview The Director, Strategy for DataComm will define and execute the global strategic and development activities for the business, providing strategic market and competitive analysis and establishing the relationships to expand and extend the market opportunities for DataComm across all markets and geographies. The Director will be a key architect of the 3-5 year strategic plan for the business as well as a strong voice for navigating current market conditions to achieve financial targets. He or she will provide portfolio oversight across the key industry segments of Data Center, Communications and Wireless. Requirement:Key Responsibilities
- Lead DataComms' activities to define and develop strategies to address to new technologies, new trends, new and adjacent market spaces
- Drive key commercial partnerships to enhance market reach, product capabilities, channels or other strategic aspects of the business
- Manage the M&A process throughout the deal cycle including identification and evaluation of target companies, due diligence, supporting deal execution, integration and governance
- Partner with business and line general management to create and enhance product line strategies
- Leverage knowledge and contacts within TE to cultivate new ideas and opportunities
- Identify competitors by segment and geographic region, evaluate relative advantages and disadvantages, and produce periodic competitive reports, assimilating information on competitor financials, market performance and strategic activity
- Monitor new technology developments at leading research institutions and recommend potential technologies to be considered as part of TE's / DataComm's strategic plans
- Participate in developing and modifying business line growth plans, based on market performance, competitive dynamics and detailed assessments of the economic environment
- Facilitate development of annual strategic plan, working with global and regional leadership in coordination with corporate team.
- Provide advice and counsel to business leaders on appropriate strategic direction based on current and forecasted market conditions - both macro as well as industry-specific
- Assist Finance, Product Line Managers and Operations leaders to develop operations improvement programs to drive improved profitability Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Engineering desired
- MBA or similar advanced degree required
- Solid and demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills
- Experience building, reviewing and presenting financial models
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience in making presentations and communicating ideas and plans to executives.
- Excellent project management skills, including a high attention to detail and a solutions orientation
- Experience in senior level strategic positions (5-7 years) preferably in a similar industry with global experience
- Prior roles with top consulting organizations (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc.) desirable
- Willingness to travel globally
