The Surgical Services Director is a registered nurse responsible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for all the operational aspects of the OR and Central Sterile Processing. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs. This encompasses human resource management including recommending sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide care: financial and clinical management, and the provision and development of professional leadership. He/She is responsible for the establishment of departmental goals and objectives that ensure quality, cost effective patient care while working collaboratively to integrate the goals and objectives of Surgical Services and Texas Orthopedic Hospital; and the integration of Departmental Performance Improvement (PI) philosophy into the ongoing operation of his/her department(s). Directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer & Chief Nursing Officer. Assures adherence to all federal and state regulations as well as the HCA Code of Conduct and TOH Standards of Behavior.
Licensure licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
Education BCLS, Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Masters in Nursing preferred. BSN Required.
Experience Must have a minimum of five(5) years recent clinical experience in perioperative nursing in the acute hospital setting and a minimum of three (3) years progressive nursing management experience.
