Superior Group is seeking a Director of Business Development for our client in Everett, WA 98206.

Job Description:
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for the development and execution of sales strategies aimed at exploiting market opportunities. Working closely with the OEMs and Tier 1s, this person will be responsible for analyzing key market, competitive and industry trends in the sector, and developing business plans to maximize growth opportunities. In this lead role, the successful candidate will be expected both to pursue and secure traditional manufacturing revenue opportunities and secondly, identify and nurture key strategic opportunities through the provision of engineering and technical services with existing and new customers. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of achieving market penetration and sales results in similar aerospace markets and demonstrated the ability to work within large, complex organizations at a senior level.

Manage, plan and organize business development activities for selected group of customers/accounts
ensuring achievement of key objectives, including account sales, new business backlog and customer visits targets.
Manage sales pipeline to ensure sales targets are met.
Negotiate commercial terms with customers to ensure margin thresholds are maximized at point of sale.
Analyze market, industry, and customer trends in key market segments and develops sales strategies to maximize sales capture with both existing and new markets/clients.
Assist business and strategic planning process in gathering intelligence with regards to market, industry, customers, pricing and competition.
Assist program management function with account management activities as deemed appropriate.

Travel: up to 30%, with some international travel required.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
4-year degree in engineering, business, finance or marketing related disciplines
Min 10 years of experience working within commercial aerospace markets
Min 3 years of experience with Defense Contracting, US Govt. Agencies, and/or Military and Defense OEMs
Min 3 years of experience with MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Min 3 years in a machining and metals environment
Min 3 years of recent Boeing vendor experience

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Masters degree
Knowledge of aerospace industry customer buying behavior.
Experience in selling to large organizations with complex buying structure.
Demonstrated record of success in a fast-paced, goal-oriented sales environment, required.
Previous sales experience in aerospace related fields, preferred.
Technical background – ME, AE or similar background, a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic selling practices, preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to process oriented selling – team selling background is a “must”
