JOB DESCRIPTIONBrief Description
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for global sales growth for all 3 businesses/product lines. This includes, developing new markets, working with engineering on new product development, growing business and creating the strategic roadmap for Specialty Components growth for the short and long term. It is an exciting position that presents an opportunity to lead in both domestic and international markets. Further, this person would create and implement key strategic initiatives for the Aftermarket business in North America and enhance effectiveness of external manufacturers reps. Reporting to this role will be two sales leaders responsible for sales growth in US (one for East and other for the West) and their teams, inside sales specialists and business development specialist. There also lies an opportunity for this individual to have the Customer Service Teams reporting in to him/her. The Director of Business Development will report directly to the VP of Specialty Components.
Directly manage two sales teams, inside sales specialists and business development specialist.
Directly manage key distributors (5-10) for all three Specialty Components businesses.
Develop and implement distributor strategy with Regional Sales Managers and Director of Sales for East & West.
Full responsibility for total distributor sales in North America.
Develop strategy to grow business with manufacturer representatives in the country.
Develop and implement sales representative strategy for entire North America.
Lead and develop two Inside Sales Specialists to: a) regain lost clients, b) convert leads to opportunities to wins, c) assist in large strategic client on-boarding, d) play the role of project manager for critical projects as needed.
Lead and develop three sales specialist roles, each for a specific product line to support the sales field.
Develop process & tool kits to identify, target and monitor growth at key accounts. Create key account strategy for all of Spec Comp.
Lead international opportunities.
Work closely with marketing to generate leads.
Candidate must have strong experience and demonstrated success in leading a direct sales force and managing distributors.
Must act with integrity by fostering trust, openness, and honesty
Must have strong focus on creating customer value for both internal and externals customers by building trusting relationships while meeting and exceeding customers expectations.
Prior experience in leading a team that drives for results, striving to create values and achieve positive business outcomes, even in difficult or challenging situations.
Strong communication and written skills, both formally and informally with a focus on achieving shared understanding and building alignment with others.
Demonstrate the ability to lead by influence as this position will require one to work well with the two Director of Sales and their respective RSMs.
Prior knowledge of industrial marketing and customer service is beneficial.
Demonstrate the ability to assume larger roles.
15 years of experience with at least 10 years in Sales
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Masters preferred
