Job Purpose: Promotes, plans and executes member-related activities, social and business meetings, and private banquets. The Director plans and manages the sales effort of the Catering Department to achieve client satisfaction and quality service while meeting/exceeding revenue/profit goals. Job Responsibilities: Solicits new and existing clients in order to meet budgetary sales expectations. Contacts executives of organizations to explain services and facilities offered by the Clubs and to solicit their business. Gives tours of the facilities and discusses booking logistics, room options and menus with potential clients. Coordinate the planning and execution of all meetings, banquets and catering events between the customer and all the other internal departments (i.e. food, music, etc.). Actively pursue community contacts within New Albany Government, Chamber and Business Park for the purpose of direct and referred business along with general insight to community direction. Responsible for bookings, confirmation, generating proposals and contracts. Communicates with clients before, during and after event. Must be present for all major catering functions. Develop, recommend, implement and manage the catering budget. Maintain a daily sales call report. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales for General Manager. Formulate plans for soliciting business. Maintains a database of contacts for repeat and future bookings. Meets weekly with the Food & Beverage Department to review upcoming events and parties, informs all necessary departments of any updates or changes. Directing and motivating Consistently demonstrates superior customer service skills. Directly supervises Catering Managers Other duties as assigned. Job Skills: Exhibit computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with POS system. Exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, listening, and math skills. Use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the Club. Maintain contact and event information and follow procedures for submitting sales contracts Read and interpret documents and to write routine reports and correspondence. Job Qualifications: Education Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related field Experience Minimum 5 years catering sales, or 2 years in hotel/club Catering/Convention Services. OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses/Certifications Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments.
