DescriptionThe Director of Distribution HR & Labor Relations has overall responsibility for providing best-in-class HR solutions to our internal business customers in the organization's Distribution Centers in addition to leading the development and implementation of labor relations strategies. This incumbent will serve as an HR business partner to create an environment that delivers desired business results and supports employee engagement.

* Provides guidance and services to internal business customers on all HR related matters
* Counsels and coaches managers and employees on employee relations and performance related issues
* Ensures that employment-related decisions and company practices are compliant with federal, state and local laws
* Manages the performance management process for client groups
* Conducts investigations on employee relations conflicts, identifies appropriate course of action and ensures that problem resolution is acted upon
* Participates in the staffing and recruitment process
* Evaluates current HR programs, policies, procedures and processes and makes recommendations for improving efficiency and effectiveness
* Plans, develops and implements new and/or enhanced HR programs, policies, procedures and processes that support the business needs of the organization

Leading the development and implementation of labor relations strategies:
* Conducts compliance reviews and union vulnerability assessments
* Recommends and implements proactive and positive employee relations initiatives
* Partners with legal counsel on employment law matters, civil rights issues and related litigation
* Directs the development and management of Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs and directs any investigation and resolution of discrimination claims
* Provide advice and counsel to Senior Management in all areas of labor law
* Manages the organization's response to union organizing drives
* Develops union avoidance training programs
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations. MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations preferred. SPHR certification also preferred

Experience: 10-15 years

* Ability to successfully manage change and deal with ambiguous situations
