JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Director, EIM will provide airline industry and data analytics expertise and guidance to the EIM team as well as internal and external customers and partners. The Director will play an instrumental role in helping set the data strategy. This role will also assist in managing the strategic partnership relationships with data providers and will identify/recommend new partnerships in order for the company to achieve its strategic goals.
As the Director of the EIM team, this role will provide technical assistance to the team and be able to understand and consult on technical aspects of analytics techniques, tools, approaches and solution design. The Director will maintain a working knowledge of current tools as well as general knowledge of emerging analytics concepts and approaches in order to successfully complete analytics projects independently and provide hands-on guidance and consulting to the team.
The Director will have strong knowledge of airline data with a particular depth of knowledge in airline distribution and ticketed data and processes. With this in-depth knowledge, the Director will be able to convey how airline data is sourced and derived and the most common uses for the data across airline, agency, and other customers.
? In partnership with Managing Director, set data strategy for ARC.
? Manage strategic relationships with external partners; identify and recommend new partnerships to help the company achieve its strategic goals.
? Provide expert guidance to the EIM team on airline data, sources and uses, and customer applications of airline data. Develop EIM team to fill knowledge gaps and increase expertise in team members with less airline data knowledge.
? Share expertise and knowledge of airline ticketing data analysis, organization, uses, and data relationships with both internal and external customers of widely varying experience and knowledge levels
? Working knowledge of SQL and analytical tools and techniques sufficient to actively participate in delivery of solutions to customers working both independently and within a team
? Provide guidance and expert insight to analytics team with understanding of solution design and analytical approaches that can be applied to both simple and complex analytical solutions
? Educate and guide Product Managers and customers on best sources of data and optimal analytical approach by understanding both customer problems/needs and data/information sources available
? Ability to supplement ticketing data with knowledge of other airline data sources (Schedules, Fares, Operations, etc.) to provide integrated solution options for customers or partnerships
? Bachelor?s degree in technical field
? 7-10 years? experience working with airline settlement or ticketing data
? SQL and Analytical Tools (e.g. Tableau)
? Analytical solutions design, execution, and delivery
? Strong communication skills with executive and technical audiences (media experience a plus)
? Leadership and mentoring of analytical solution development teams
