Director of Global Indirect Sourcing 9/8/2016

Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is looking for a Procurement Director to manage purchasing categories for indirect goods and services at a global level with the primary focus on strategy creation and execution to deliver long term competitive advantage by maximizing value for money and protecting the business. He/she manages global initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships and strategic partnerships to drive standardization across regions and segments where feasible.
The Director is responsible for managing a team of professionals who oversee all aspects of global procurement for all indirect goods and services, both at a corporate level and at all remote facilities.
-Plans and leads sourcing or cost-savings projects on a global, regional, local and/or multi-site level, engaging stakeholders and the required cross-functional resources. Establishes and maintains the project pipeline, and aligns resources to meet category management timelines.
-Develops, leads and implements local/regional/global preferred supplier portfolios with corresponding supplier relationship programs, in close alignment with stakeholders
-Lead contract discussions with legal, implement contracts and capture them in the system. Leads supplier negotiations.
-Continuously monitors external market conditions and understands their potential impacts on category strategies
-Monitors results, utilizing data reporting capabilities, against established global and regional KPIs
-Leads team in development and execution of category sourcing strategies
-Liaise with other senior executives across the organization to ensure procurement strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and aligned with the overall objectives.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
-BS in Engineering, Business or a technical degree - MBA preferred.
-7-10 years' experience in global or regional purchasing, materials management or indirect category management
-Five years' experience in a manufacturing operations environment with senior level responsibility, four years of expertise in global strategic category sourcing.
-Prior global/international business experiencerequired; must be knowledgeable, adept, and proactive in identifying, developing, and capitalizing on international opportunities, both from sourcing and supply chain
-Direct knowledge and experience with key categories such as fright/logistics, travel, MRO, packaging, and services
-Must possess good IT knowledge, adept at negotiation techniques, presentation skills, and training in lean manufacturing required.
-Deep supply chain expertise, demonstrated ability to leverage/transform supply chain organization, Project management, understanding engineering/ITinfrastructure, fundamental Lean/Six Sigma Concepts
