Job Purpose / Objective

* As a strategic human resources business partner, this position aligns business objectives with associates and leadership in designated business units

* Consults with leaders and associates on Human Resource related priorities that include talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, performance management, employee relations, benefits & compensation and training and development

* Serves as a change agent to drive an enable local and Corporate initiatives; communicates observations and needs proactively to local leadership and Corporate

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

* Develop and preserve effective working relationships with CBIZ associates, business unit leadership and national HR team to successfully impact associate and business unit performance

* Develop and maintain an effective level of business literacy to include the financial position and business objectives of the designated business units and CBIZ overall

* Partner with leadership in driving business objectives

* Work closely with management and associates to improve engagement, retention and productivity

* Work with national recruiting team to optimize local campus recruiting efforts; creatively find outlets to increase strength of relationships and reach on campus through professors, coaches, student group leaders, career development offices and additional venues and relationships

* Collaborate with the national recruiting on recruiting strategies and actions for experienced talent

* Facilitate discussions with management and associates on employment matters and legal issues

* Serve as liaison with associates and HR Shared Service Center to resolve benefit matters

* Monitor management and associate staffing levels; identify recruiting and training needs; ensure assimilation of new hires through the on boarding program; utilize effective recruiting sources and methods to attract and select talented employees while effectively balancing external hiring and internal promotions

* Provide ongoing associate and leader education to meet the training and development needs of the local market

* Provide input to Corporate HR in policy development

* Communicate and assist in the administration of various HR programs, including; salary administration, health & welfare benefits, performance management and other key programs; Champion local rollout, communication and facilitation of Corporate HR strategic initiatives; participate in local and national committees and special projects

* Serve as liaison with management and Corporate HR in addressing disciplinary action and separations

* Conduct all exit interviews and coordinate unemployment claims

* Serve as primary local user of Human Capital Management System

* Maintain secure personnel records

* Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications Required

* Bachelor s degree required

* Graduate or specialty degree preferred

* 10 years experience

* PHR/SPHR preferred

* Strong HR generalist background

* Extensive knowledge in performance management, legal (federal/state), employee relations, compensation/benefits, and HRIS also required

* Strong organizational skills, time management and multi-tasking ability and prioritizing

* Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally

* Demonstrated ability in negotiation, conflict and problem resolution

* Proficient use of applicable technology

* Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
