JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Summary:
The Director of Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Services is responsible for the management of the Transplant Program at the UC Irvine Medical Center. The Director provides services to meet physician and Health System objectives in the following areas: a) patient care, teaching and research, b) clinical resource management, and c) developing and administering an operating budget for capital, and programs. Maintains 24/7 responsibility for the direction, administration, quality, coordination, evaluation of patient care activities and support services to ensure appropriate and efficient support for patient care in the program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Computer familiarity using MS Office and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs and services
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide effective leadership with a positive focus that will enhance the nursing services of the Division, providing optimal patient-oriented health care in an efficient and cost-effective manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Strong clinical skills
Strong customer service orientation with an ability to interact effectively with all levels including staff, senior management, physicians, patients, and families
Demonstrated management experience in a solid organ transplant program
Experience working in a UC and/or union environment
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Knowledge of the Orange County healthcare market
Masters of Science in Nursing
Results oriented attitude with excellent budgeting and financial skills
