JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY VHB's has an exiciting growth opportunity for an experienced senior level site/civil engineer to lead our Land Development group in our Tampa, FL office. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 15 years' progressively responsible experience working in the Southeast Region on all aspects of planning, design, and permitting of real estate development projects. The successful candidate will have a strong client and business partner network as well as a thorough understanding of the regulatory permitting and approval processes required for private and public land development projects in the greater Tampa area and throughout Florida. The candidate must have the demonstrated ability to build a successful practice, guide, motivate, and develop professional planning and engineering staff developing new business and strong client relationships; overseeing the management of staff and projects; and ensure quality.
Responsibilities: Building and maintaining a high-performing Land Development team through key hires, staff development, and mentoring Creating and responding to business development opportunities Developing deep client relationships through professional contacts, networks, and active participation in relevant industry associations Developing scopes of service and fee proposals Staff development and mentoring Project management of a range of site/civil engineering projects Ability to develop project scope, schedule and budget/compensation Oversight of the team's financial performance
Skills and Abilities: Excellent leadership qualities that inspire and motivate staff and peers Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, including the ability to manage staff and projects involving multiple technical disciplines Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of planning and engineering for a wide range of land development projects including retail, residential, office, mixed-use, institutional, industrial, and other commercial land use types Demonstrated knowledge of local, state and federal regulations and local design criteria Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Self-motivated, resourceful, and focused with careful attention to detail Ability to think strategically and collaboratively Strong communications and presentation skills
Qualifications: 15+ years of civil engineering experience BS in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred PE required
