Responsible for the overall operations for the assigned nursing unit and ensures the delivery of efficient, high quality patient care and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week of the Long Term Acute Care department. The Director of Nursing (DON) works with employees and other managers to develop systems and procedures necessary for daily operations, and provides training, information and support to solve problems and accomplish assigned objectives. Supervises the following positions: Nursing staff - RN, LPN, CNA, Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, Unit Secretaries, and Telemetry/Monitor Tech.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will possess:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master's Degree strongly preferred.
* One to two years nursing management experience strongly preferred.
* Five to ten years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital required.
* Critical care experience preferred.
* Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in CA.
