JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY AppleOne has an immediate need for a Director of Production for a homebuilder located within Northern Colorado.
Our ideal candidate must be a servant leader who will develop, inspire and mentor the Company?s Production Team while embracing innovation, technology and change to continually improve and drive results. Additionally, the Director of Production must be able to critically focus on our Trade Partner and Homebuyer experiences to meet their expectations and assure the delivery of defect-free homes on time and within budget. This person will manage the delivery of our high quality product, supervise all trade and field personnel and administer excellent construction safety practices with all on-site activities.
Responsible for overall people & process management of the Construction operations, including talent identification, recruiting, and development
Develop, implement and communicate value driven construction techniques and production procedures, while continually looking for and recommending value-engineering and other cost saving opportunities
Safeguard and hold the team accountable to existing Trade Partner relationships and ensuring their success.
Assist in service activities to ensure excellence and consistency as defined by superior quality workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction
Develop, monitor and adhere to the building budgets, work schedules and labor forecasts with a view towards maximum efficiency
Review and understand market trends and identify opportunities for the company
Review budgets with an understanding of market pricing
Maintain financial acumen on construction financials to include house cost and overhead management
Understand forecasting business plans and meeting budgets and goals set for department
Develop relationships with new Partners for building bench strength
Performance management and development of Team Members
Participate in Product Innovation, Product Development, & Lean Building Initiatives
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or degree in either construction management, planning or in a related field, with a high level of business acumen and a commitment to continuous learning
7+ years of progressive experience in residential single family or multi-family construction, with an expert knowledge and understanding of residential homebuilding disciplines
Ability to establish credibility and trust to build relationships with people of all levels of the organization, including but not limited to community site staff, sales and marketing, contracts and purchasing, design center and land development.
Demonstrated ability to work with external parties, including homeowners, local and provincial construction associations, trade partners, suppliers, industry peers
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Strong focus on execution & education
Strategic mindset with practical orientation
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment
Positive attitude, responsive and action oriented
Highly organized and detail oriented
Experience with builder management & schedule software required.
