JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Director of Residence Life is a management position within the Division of Student Affairs and reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. The individual serving in this capacity provides leadership and direction for the department; oversees the administration and management of on-campus housing at Fayetteville State University; directs departmental operations; assist with developing and monitoring the department budget; and sets goals and establishes strategies for the department. The director is responsible for the development of a comprehensive residence life and housing program focused on the overall resident student experience aimed at promoting community development, academic success, social responsibility, character development, and personal growth. Additionally, the Director of Residence Life serves as a liaison to critical constituencies involved in the housing enterprise, including but not limited to Police and Public Safety, Facilities Maintenance, Academic Affairs, and Business & Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the University's housing and residence life operations in the Division of Student Affairs; assist with the fiscal management for department budget; supervises professional and support staff ensuring efficient operations and programming, and ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, standards, and laws.
Oversees administrative housing operations; processes housing contracts and applications; monitors progress of work orders, and coordinates the room assignment process.
Evaluates and assesses University housing occupancy, retention, and projection trends; coordinates marketing and recruiting efforts for on-campus housing; and confirms that all room assignments and billings are posted in accordance to University guidelines.
