Director of Sales Freehand Chicago is looking for an energetic Up and Comer with a strong entrepreneurial spirit who is looking to make the next step to become a Director of Sales. This is a hands on leadership position that will lead a team of 3 while developing new accounts and maximizing the current account base. Sydells core expertise is an ability to identify fresh talent within the hotel, food & beverage, and retail communities and align them with best in class development, management and financial discipline in the creation of compelling new business models in lifestyle hotels. Freehand Hotels are created for a new generation of travelers. Freehand Chicago is located in the heart of The Windy City, in the River North neighborhood. Our second outpost is housed in a classic 1927 building with innovative design envisioned by Roman and Williams. For eats and drinks, youll find a second edition of our celebrated Broken Shaker mixology bar, serving up signature cocktails and bites. Our Café Integral serves up a variety of fine Nicaraguan coffee and seasonal dishes. Position Scope and Essential Functions Achieve and exceed budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service Utilize the marketing plan in order to uncover new and potential business Cultivate existing accounts into repeat business and revenue streams Develop and maintain a comprehensive Target List of potential new accounts for the entire sales team; use creativity and innovation to find ideal customers that fit the hotels unique culture Develop new accounts with active prospecting, market networking, and targeted Sales Calls to accounts most probable to book Freehand Develop powerful customer relationship with appropriately frequent and reliable communication; Follow up on all Sales leads in timely, courteous and professional manner Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated information Recruit direct, mange, train, and counsel sales staff Actively lead the entire property as a member of the Executive Committee Have a genuine passion for the Lifestyle Hotel segment and Freehands strengths and position within the industry Support Functions In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following support functions: Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events Participate as a team player with all departments Provide constructive feedback to all departments Be a leader and a role model to all employees
