JOB DESCRIPTIONGENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Technology provides operational leadership, direction, and administration to the various components of the Academy's technology resources and staff. Maintains all aspects of the Academy's network and web development needs. Installs, implements and troubleshoots all hardware, software and related services. Responsible for user accounts, access rights and overall network security. Provides technical support to users. Maintains the Academy's phone system; maintains complete confidentiality at all times.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Master's degree in computer science preferred. One or more of the following certifications desired: A+, Network +CCNA, MSCA. In-depth working knowledge of the following: Microsoft Office, Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2, Active Directory, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Linux, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, POP3, VLAN, WEP, WPA, Cisco IOS, Cisco PI, 802.11x, WCAG-508 Compliance, VMWare, VSphere 6, disaster recovery, IT Risk management, and project management.
Knowledge of voice and data wiring standards; Understanding of VoIP operation; knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise; ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments; strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to initiate and direct technical projects in support of strategic and operational goals. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities; Strategic planning skills; ability to develop requests for and evaluate proposals for state-of-the-art information technology; ability to negotiate contractual arrangements for the provision of information technology.
