District Sales Manager

Objective:

Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in an assigned market; Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values; Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for customers and sales representatives.
Responsibilities of a District Sales Manager Include:

Responsibility for achieving assigned district goals of volume and profitability and for translating company vision into effective sales tactics
Formulate sales plan and implements sales strategies for the district.
Develop recommendations on growth, opportunities for growth, and key target accounts.
Lead sales team to achieve established goals by insuring specific individual goals are met
Develop and direct sales training plans and programs
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and proactively address performance issues
Establish and maintains contact and rapport with employees, customers, prospects within assigned area.
Helps with difficult customer problems and participates in important negotiations with key customers.
Daily field sales with sales representatives; hands on in field

Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years experience in direct field sales management in an automotive or industrial environment with an outside sales team of 6 or more.
Outstanding sales acumen with proven record of business development success
Strong leadership and training skills
High level of organizational and interpersonal skills
High level of enthusiasm and engagement
Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision making ability
Travel up to 30% of the time.
