Major Duties

Position Summary:Lead all aspects of environmental, health and safety (EHS) management to meet or exceed division goals. Establish a culture of safe work performance and environmental responsibility.Scope/Supervision and Interaction:The Division EHS Manager will report to the General Manager of the PowerGen Division with a dotted line relationship to Group and Corporate EHS leaders.The position will supervise facilities/maintenance employees for the Mount Holly, SC site.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:Lead and execute EHS programs and procedures at the PowerGen Division in coordination with corporate plans and objectives. Programs will emphasize Safety and Accident Prevention, EHS Regulatory Compliance and Resource Conservation.Work with division leadership and the division EHS High Performance Team to develop a culture of excellence for safety and environmental management through effective training, communication, management, and involvement.Actively work with other functional leaders to integrate EHS into Operations, Lean, Quality, Supply Chain, HR, Customer Service and Engineering. Leverage existing systems and procedures in those functional areas to the extent possible in EHS management.Manage the EHS corrective action program, including EHS audits, regulatory inspections, accident and incident investigation and root cause analysis, customer EHS audits and other assessments that identify EHS issues that require corrective action. Lead the use of EHS management systems, including corporate EHS directives, ISO 14001 certification and any other applicable certifications or elements.Manage site facilities and maintenance resources to support the business. Manage relationships with facility contractors and service providers as well as federal, state, and local government entities. Complete all required EHS reporting, including division performance against targets and goals, regulatory reporting, and corporate or customer specific reporting.Manage the EHS training program for applicable training required across the division.Manage the division resource conservation program, including energy use, water use and waste generation.Lead EHS change management programs for new processes, equipment, materials and people.Support EHS activities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, facility closure and environmental remediation of property.

Qualifications

Qualifications:Bachelors degree in EHS, Engineering, or other related technical fieldMinimum five years of applicable EHS experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Ten or more years preferred. Prior site or division EHS leadership highly preferred.Thorough knowledge of applicable EHS regulations and requirements.Prior experience leading aspects of a comprehensive EHS program.Prior experience with resource conservation management.Prior experience managing the EHS aspects of welding operations highly preferred.Related certifications in EHS preferred.Demonstrated skills in leading and influencing change and be an agent of change management. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to influence people at all levels.
