JOB DESCRIPTIONAt Johns Manville, we protect our employees, communities, environment and the world. We are hiring a Division Health & Safety Manager to join our EH&S team in Denver, CO. The Division Health and Safety Manager will lead JM's health and safety management system for Insulation Systems plants toward our goal of a 'zero harm workplace'. Responsibilities: * Ensure total regulatory compliance for all Health and Safety requirements at all Insulation Systems facilities * Demonstrate JM leadership attributes to proactively drive health and safety culture and employee engagement.* Participate as a leader of the Insulation Systems Operations Leadership Team and drive all health and safety related processes* Appropriately challenge status quo and demonstrate ability to lead, manage and facilitate change* Identify needs and provide oversight in development of other H&S and Operational leaders. Verify appropriate H&S developmental plans are effectively completed for all employees. * Work with the other functional leaders (ie., OPEX, Engineering) to implement problem solving processes, continuous improvement efforts, and new products into all IS facilities* Lead, develop and partner with Regional Health & Safety Managers to support facility specific initiatives, drive consistency and standardization of processes, and educate all employees on Health and Safety practices.* Develop and ensure implementation of specialized projects to advance the health and safety organization at Johns Manville* Participate as a member of the Global EHS leadership team working with other Divisional Health & Safety leaders to develop overarching Health and Safety strategy and key initiatives.* Responsible for process of consolidation and reporting of all health and safety metrics and goals for Insulation Systems plants on a weekly and monthly basis.* Participate in oversight and leadership of the company's Management of Change process and its implementation in IS plants, including coordinating technical and regulatory analysis of proposed changes in manufacturing machine configurations or changes in materials used for manufacturing.* Work with Regional Health and Safety Managers and plant management to determine personnel resource requirements and fill open positions for each IS facility* Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor's degree* 10 or more years of experience in health and safety and/or operations. * 7 or more years of experience in health and safety management.* Experience managing small teams of direct and indirect reports. Experience to include (coaching, mentoring setting direction, deploying resources, performance evaluations, pay reviews and terminations in a matrix organization). * Ability to create passion and excitement for working toward a 'zero harm workplace' culture.* Experience with regulatory standards related to health and safety.* Ability to work with respective outside regulatory agencies (OSHA, State level).* Experience with incident investigation (Investigation start to finish, how it should be handled. Incidents and Root Cause and corrective actions). * Multi-industry best practice and knowledge management sharing experience. Someone who can bring best practice experience to JM* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.* Ability to travel up to 75% (US and Canada). * Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility (may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Provide strategic direction and ability to effectively align people around future state goals* Effective leadership presence and collaborative communicator at all levels* Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects and processes within a manufacturing environment* Provides tangible solutions accepted by others through influence and collaboration Influencing is critical to success.
