Job Description

Summary Responsible for the growth and development of an assigned market to include managing Retail Area Managers &/or Branch Managers; primarily focused on growing a segment of the Retail bank, creating a positive work environment, developing the assigned community, improving Division profitability, and providing accurate and superior customer service personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Exercises managerial control over functions of the assigned Division to include participation in the budget process, implementation of regional/local policy, and explanation of company programs, policies, and objectives

Assesses risk of all financial transactions executed by personnel

Conducts division-wide sales debriefs and staff meetings to ensure support of current campaigns & alignment to corporate strategy establishing goals and supporting promotions

Plans and coordinates a division-wide Officers and Supervisors meeting semi-annually and assist with the planning of the semi-annual state-wide meeting

Raises capital as needed by the organization

Prepares reports to satisfy tax requirements

Collects data to analyze the present and future financial effectiveness of the Division through activity report monitoring

Accountable for maintaining corporate standards for regulatory compliance, lending and risk management policies, and internal financial and operational controls for all activities related to assigned Division

Plans and coordinates division-wide strategic planning as needed in coordination with Regional Retail Manager

Ensures alignment of the Division's business development and marketing goals with Hancock Bank goals

Coordinates with other lines of business to set strategies for achieving set goals for the division

Attends Business Partner Sales meetings on a periodic basis as an active participant in the debriefing process to ensure successful implementation of set strategies

Plans for and recommends the expansion/contraction of banking facilities, changes in staff, and hours of operation for assigned branches

Reviews and recommends objectives, policies, and procedures for assigned Retail Area of branches



Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages up to 15 or 20 subordinate supervisors who supervise a number of employees that varies - could be up to 100 or more - in the Retail division and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units; Directly supervises non-supervisory employees which varies by division but generally is no more than 15 .

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and eight years banking experience and training with at least 6 years experience in Retail Banking management

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Anyone who takes a residential mortgage loan application or offers or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain must register with the National mortgage Loan system as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO). To be registered, the MLO must pass a background check. Failure to comply with registration and annual registration or not pass a criminal background check administered by NMLS will result in termination.
