Purpose for this Position: Transport hotel guests to and from businesses and other requested and assigned locations. Assist arriving and departing guests by opening and closing doors for incoming and outgoing guests, loading and unloading guest luggage from courtesy van. Essential Responsibilities: Driving hotel guests to and from the hospital and other assigned trips, obeying all traffic rules and regulations constantly throughout shift to ensure a safe, accident-free trip. Assist guest with storage and retrieving their luggage from the van. Open vehicles and hotel doors to assist guests. Respond to guest questions, issues and problems regarding transportation, hotel services and local events, points of interest and activities. Maintain the hotel van; gas, oil, cleanliness; filling in daily van reports and reporting any malfunctions on a daily basis. To do this kind of work, you must be able to: Complete knowledge of the Sage Fleet Safety Program. Passing grade on the Professional Courtesy Van Service Examination. Daily vehicle safety inspections and completion of Pre-Trip Inspection Form. Assist bell staff and doorperson when needed. Knowledge of hotel services and the local area events and activities. Ability to drive all speed shifts of vehicles, van, limousines and automobiles. Excellent driving record as verified by Motor Vehicle ReportCDL License required. Ability to converse with guests and fellow employees. Excellent hearing required to accommodate city street and expressway driving. Excellent vision required - correctable 20/20 for driving purposes. Comprehension and literacy required to read and interpret traffic and directional signage. Be available on nights, weekends and holidays. Physical Demands: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Pushing/pulling cart up to 200 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, reaching, bending, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing. Environmental Conditions: Both: Inside and outside: A job is considered "both" if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts approximately 75' or more of the time inside. Noise and Vibration: Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction or possible injury to the sense of hearing, and/or sufficient vibration (production of an oscillating movement or strain on the body or its extremities from repeated motion or shock) to cause bodily harm if endured day after day. Temperature Changes: Variations in temperature due to seasonal changes which are sufficiently marked and abrupt to cause noticeable bodily reactions. Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: Compute ratio and proportion and percentages. Calculate surface, volumes, weight and measures. Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read instructions, safety rules, etc. Speak with poise, voice control and confidence using correct English and well-modulated voice. Relationships to Data, People and Things: Data: Compiling: Gathering, collating or classifying information about data, people or things. Reporting and/or carrying out a prescribed action in relation to the information is frequently involved. Specific Vocational Preparation: Specific Vocational Preparation includes an occupationally significant combination of: vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on-the-job training, or essential experience in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher job or serving in other jobs.
