Job Description

PURPOSE

Under general supervision carries drywall from storage to active use location on a construction site; may carry by hand, use a mechanical cart or forklift as necessary; loads and unloads drywall onto delivery vehicle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Loads and unloads drywall into delivery vehicle using mechanical cart or forklift, as necessary; uses knowledge of load building to ensure safe transportation of materials.

2. Unloads drywall at a construction site by hand, mechanical cart or forklift as appropriate; carries drywall from storage site to active use location as needed.

3. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

4. Other duties may be assigned.

COMPETENCIES

- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
- Knowledge of company products/inventory available at work location
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Valid drivers license if transports drywall over the road
- May require forklift certification

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent work experience. This is an entry level position where the incumbent will receive on-the-job training.

o Work is performed indoors and outdoors environment and physical activity requirements, subject to variations in temperature and weather, equipment noise and dust.

o Must be able to lift and carry over 80 pounds frequently throughout the day.

o May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling.
