This position, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides supportive and assisting duties with patient care and clerical assistance and performs approved procedures. The ED Tech must demonstrate an ability to work effectively as a multidisciplinary team member, communicate in an effective and efficient manner with all documentation, and with all coworkers, patients, visitors and physicians, as well as recognize and report concerns to the Registered Nurse. High school diploma required. 2 years experience in acute hospital setting, ambulance service or ambulatory care required. Knowledge of medical terminology also required. Phlebotomy experience preferred. EKG experience preferred. EMT Certification, CNA or Medical Assistant certification preferred. BCLS Certification required (if not current, must obtain within the first six months of employment and maintain annually).
This 24 hr position consists of 2, 12 hour shifts, one 9a-9p and one 11a-11p shift each week. Schedule repeats every three weeks, requires every 3rd weekend coverage with weekend shifts 11a-11pm. Every third holiday required (one summer, one winter). Part-time 24 hours/week Days/Evenings; Alternating weekdays & weekends
