EEG Tech II

Job Summary:
Obtains standard as well as special procedure EEG recordings and monitors additional physiologic phenomena by means of appropriate techniques and instrumentation.

Essential Responsibilities: - Records physiological data from the patients having routine, sleep, and special electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures. Records physiological data from in/out patients having Long Term Monitoring(Telemetry). Includes telemetry application of monitoring equipment and reset patients returning for continued monitoring.
- Performs intraoperative procedures in the operating room as needed. Monitors physiological data from patients having Carotid Endarterectomies and Electrocorticography. Applies electrodes to patients and removes electrodes at the end of surgery.
- Provides effective first aid for patients for special electrophysiological patients who have convulsions or other problems.
- Cleans and maintains all equipment and makes minor repairs as needed. Maintains cleanliness of laboratory, microfilming and storage of data and filing system.
- Acts as resource for residents, physicians and other technicians, providing assistance and advice as necessary.

Required Qualifications: - Vocational or Technical training required in Neurodiagnostic training.
- 0-1 years related work experience required.
- Successful completion of an educational program for EEG technologist accredited by the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
Preferred Qualifications:- One year technical healthcare experience.

We teach medical students, residents, and other physicians, nurses, and caretakers about the care of patients with neurological disorders.
