Carilion has Emergency Department openings in the following hospitals: Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 791-bed teachingtertiary care center with level 1 trauma serving 1.5 million. The ED is 100,000 square feet and provides 60+ beds plus a separate Peds ED. Volumes average 75,000 non-urgent care visits (12,000 peds), and a combined visit with urgent care to over 100,000 visits annually. Bedford Memorial Hospital is a 50-bed, full-service medical facility with 16,000 ED visits annually that include a mix of adult medical and some peds with a 7% admissions rate. Shifts are 12 hours with single coverage. Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, a 25 bed critical access hospital averages 13,000 ED visits annually that include a mix of adult medical with some peds. Enjoy working in a new $50 million hospital with 85,000 square feet hospital that opened Spring 2010. The new facility remains a 25-bed critical access hospital 25,000 square feet larger than the existing hospital and will have room for additional services, including stereo-tactic breast biopsy, nuclear medicine and rotating specialists. Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington, Virginia is a 25 bed critical access facility with 16,000 visits annually. The hospital provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services specializing in imaging, surgical, and therapy services. Medical Director position also available requiring at least 3 years of leadership experience including administrative and personnel responsibilities. Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Radford, Virginia, a 146-bed acute care medical center with Level 3 Trauma opened in March 1999 along the I-81 corridor in Southwest Virginia. Volumes average 38,000 visits annually with a 14% admission rate. 16 hours of double coverage plus 10 hours fast track coverage each day. Work with major subspecialty back-up and a Hospitalist program for admissions. Visits include a mix of adult medical, some peds and industrialfarmrecreational accidents. Transfers available to other Carilion hospitals in Southwest Virginia including Carilion Roanoke Memorial with Level 1 trauma coverage. Carilion offers a sophisticated network with electronic medical records and centralized patient registration and billing, PACS Imaging, and web based scheduling. Hybrid positions working in multiple Carilion facilities is available. Qualified candidates must be BEBC in Emergency Medicine or BC in Family Medicine with at least 2 years of experience working in the emergency department.
