EMT - Intermediate

Job Summary: Respond to emergency medical calls that are within the immediate and mutual aid catchment areas, deliver safety and quality patient care in pre-hospital and hospital settings, and perform all procedures within the Scope of Practice for licensure (basic, intermediate, paramedic) and NH Regional Service. Hours of Work: Employees are expected to work 12-hour shifts, either 7am to 7pm, or 7pm to 7am
Qualifications:


High school graduate or equivalent.

All level of EMTs (Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic) require appropriate level of National and State Registry licensure/certification.

All level of EMTs (Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic) require Basic Life Support (BLS)

1 3 years experience as EMT at any level, or in related field preferred.

Basic computer skills and knowledge.

Must be able to calculate weight and volume ratios.

Must be able to perform all tasks in emergency situations, under life-threatening time straints, and otherwise stressful situations.

Excellent decision-making skills, be self-directed, and self-motivated.

Must be able to work as part of a patient care team.

Knowledge of general telephone and radio equipment and use.

Ability to read and understand English language manuals, road maps, street signs and addresses.

Valid NH Driver s license with a good driving record, and insurable with New London Hospital automobile insurance carrier.

Must be at least 18 years old
