Investor Relations works closely with Goldman Sachs senior management to shape the firm?s external messaging for research analysts, debt and equity investors, proxy advisory firms, rating agencies and credit counterparts. This is a unique position that allows candidates to develop an Investment Banking valuation and modelling skill-set and Securities Division market perspective while gaining exposure to senior management, rating agencies, research analysts and key investors. Candidates will work directly with all members of the group across our debt and equity, corporate governance and rating agency teams.
Debt and Equity Investor Relations
? Work with debt and equity investor relations team to effectively manage relationships with key constituents including GS senior management, sell-side research analysts and buy-side investors
? Evaluate GS and global competitors from an investment perspective, examining both quantitative and qualitative factors
? Build and maintain financial models focusing on earnings, balance sheet metrics and valuation
? Develop specific expertise on multiple competitors, closely monitoring news, performance and investor presentations and proactively sharing information with the Investor Relations team and senior management
? Research and create regular strategic analyses for business leadership addressing relevant market topics including valuation, returns, volatility, business performance, consensus expectations, earnings takeaways, et cetera
? Prepare presentation materials for equity research conferences, senior business managers and investors
? Work closely with internal teams across Goldman Sachs to produce talking points and analytics on market or business related issues
? Participate in ongoing Firmwide due diligence with key business managers to stay abreast of company specific and industry trends
? Work with corporate governance team to effectively manage relationships with key constituents including GS senior management, GS Board members, shareholders, proxy advisory firms and other external constituents
? Create presentations, analyses, talking points and briefing memos that address topics including GS? governance profile, investor views, and peer governance trends
? Develop solid understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance risks and answer related questions and ad hoc requests as needed
? Proactively research and monitor key issues and trends in corporate governance
? Participate in webinars and conference calls; monitor news and online sources to gather information and disseminate key takeaways to the team on a real-time basis
? Manage short-term and long-term corporate governance team projects
? Take a leadership role in driving the process and becoming a corporate governance expert
? Liaise with a variety of internal constituents across the firm and work effectively and efficiently to gather information
? Work with investor relations team to effectively manage relationships with key constituents including GS senior management and the rating agencies
? Perform fundamental credit analysis on Goldman Sachs and its peer group and closely monitor industry trends, balance sheet statistics, strategic initiatives, business mix, external messaging and credit ratings
? Evaluate GS and peer credit ratings relative to fundamental analytics and market-based ratings
? Create analyses for senior management addressing key themes in rating agency research, global rating trends and critical credit metrics emphasized by each of the agencies
? Coordinate presentation materials for quarterly rating agency meetings and other presentations
? Demonstrated interest or experience in finance, accounting, economics and markets
? Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
? Ability to analyze, evaluate and form independent judgments
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Ability to self-direct and manage projects
? Ability to interact and build relationships with people across the firm at different levels of seniority
? Highly detail-oriented
