JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY EOD Technician
Explosives EOD Technician: The Shock Physics Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an immediate full-time job opening for an Explosives Technician within our Explosives Group. Explosive Ordnance Disposal experience is required with 10+ years of EOD experience is preferred. This position will require handling, storing, transporting, arming and firing of explosives in support of test requirements. Additionally, this position will require preparation of the test sites to include basic construction, fabrication and operation of heavy equipment. Explosive test sites are located locally and at remote sites both in and out of the state with some out-of-town travel required. An electronics background and knowledge of high-voltage firing systems is desired.

We are located on Kirtland Air Force Base and applicants must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and a current vehicle registration to gain access onto the Base. Salary range is dependent upon skill level, appropriate certifications and education. ARA provides a complete benefits package.
Employment is contingent upon obtaining an interim DOD security clearance. US citizenship is required in order to obtain a security clearance and a current clearance is highly desirable.

- Knowledge in safe handling, storage, transportation and firing of explosives.
- Basic fabrication with wood and metal.
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment.
- Electronics experience to build, troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems and components.
- Position requires having a class A license or acquiring and maintaining Commercial Driver's License class B with Hazardous Materials endorsement.
- Graduate of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
- Demonstrated experience with hand and power tools.
- Basic equipment maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated experience in operating heavy equipment is preferred.
