Echocardiogram Technician

Performs a variety of specialized echocardiogram tests to patients within the department and in patient rooms. Coordinates the transportation of patients to and from the department. Works under general supervision. Competent in two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography in the assessment and interpretation of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics and function. Competent in Doppler chocardiography in the assessment, interpretation and calculation of intracardiac pressures, valve gradients, regurgitant and stenotic patterns. Competent in Stress Echocardiograms and assisting cardiologist in TEE procedures. Cross-trained and competent in all duties of the Cardiovascular Tech and able to assist and perform GXT s, ECG s, Holter s, Event Monitors and CPR during Code Blue.
QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a 2-year, college level sonography program or equivalent, required. Training in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and patient care required. Basic Life Support required. American Board of Cardiovascular Technologists and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification, preferred. 3 or more years experience preferred. Neonatal and pediatric experience preferred. Reliability and dependability a must.
**Must be available to take call 2 -5 days per pay period. Must be available to work week days and weekends.Staff members that are In House Registry status are expected, at minimum, to be available for the following:
A. One (1) day of department coverage consisting of at least four (4) hours per pay period.
B. Two (2) days of call coverage (if applicable) per pay period.
C. On-call coverage for one (1) Summer (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) and one (1) Winter (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) holiday.
