The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in macroeconomics with an emphasis in international, monetary, and open economy macroeconomics or other related areas of macroeconomics.
The Economics Department has a Ph.D. program, a professional Master s program, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise and mentor graduate students; contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department, and to university and professional service. The successful candidate must be able to work with students, faculty and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
RANK: Assistant Professor (tenure-track)
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience; academic year (9-month) basis
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Economics or related field, teaching experience and evidence of research in macroeconomics. Degree expected to be conferred by June 30, 2018
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated expertise in macroeconomics with emphasis in international and monetary, open economy macroeconomics, or other related areas of macroeconomics. Degree to be conferred by June 30, 2017.
POSITION AVAILABLE: July 1, 2017, with academic year beginning September 2017. Degree must be conferred by June 30, 2018 for employment beyond that date.
