JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Taylor & Francis Group, a leading international academic publisher, has a vacancy for an Associate Editor within the Routledge imprint working on the Mental Health list.

Working within a team of editors, this position involves the commissioning of new books and new editions in the fields of addiction, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, art/expressive therapies, eating disorders, group psychology, and school psychology/school counseling. Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team of editors and should be comfortable handling a range of product types, including handbooks, academic, and professional books.

The key focus of the job will be maintaining a forward-thinking strategy for the list, building on our reputation for high-quality books and pinpointing growth areas.

Job title and salary will be subject to experience and this position will be based in New York City.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or equivalent educational experience and at least two years experience in an editorial capacity. Candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently, while liaising effectively with other team members. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the subject matter, will be willing to travel extensively, and possess strong commercial awareness. Prior commissioning experience is ideal, but just as importantly, we are looking for someone with passion, energy, maturity and extremely good organizational and interpersonal skills.
