JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Routledge/Taylor & Francis has a vacancy for the position of Editor for its growing list of books for the professional business market.

This position involves the proactive commissioning of new books focusing on the tactical level of business-performance improvement, leadership, and corporate-culture transformation. In addition, the role will involve building strong author relationships, maintaining a targeted social-media presence, and constantly staying abreast of trends that affect the strategy and operations of industries and their practitioners.

The successful applicant should exhibit an aptitude for highly organized teamwork, a collegiate attitude towards the sharing of projects and ideas, possess strong commercial awareness and be willing to travel extensively throughout North America, Europe and the rest of the world as necessary. The ability to work towards demanding targets is essential.

Key tasks will include:

* commissioning new books both through existing contacts and generating new leads

* managing contracted titles to schedule and to budget

* liaising with internal and external colleagues to further the success of the list

* representing Routledge at conferences and other events

Experience of commissioning professional books would be preferred, though extensive commissioning experience is not necessarily essential.
