JOB DESCRIPTIONELECTRICAL ENGINEER POSITION
Responsible for all electrical equipment in the facility, including the main electrical service, all wiring and power distribution, and electrical equipment (production and non-production.) The operation has over 100 employees in a batch to batch continuous manufacturing process. The role will be responsible for providing guidance to plant electricians as needed in the performance of their job including: NEC compliance, training on computer controls, innovation in control and production equipment, and coordinate work with contractors.
The role will provide technical support for capital projects, equipment, and power distribution in the facility. Work with Overall Equipment Effectiveness within the operation. The role will be working on the floor daily with production and technicians in the operation for everyday problem solving, working on projects including upgrades, new equipment installs, line changes and modifications. The role will be responsible for troubleshooting PLC problems, drive issues, out of sequence systems, prioritize equipment downtime projects, PLC programming and ladder logic.
Communicate regularly with production, process engineering, and maintenance departments when researching/collecting information and solving problems. Also communicates with outside vendors and contractors in order to ensure equipment is properly maintained, selected, and installed. Generate reports to management in regard to maintaining plant systems, recommendations for improvement, and cost savings. The position will be supporting the maintenance team with the implementation and support of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
BS in ElectricalEngineering or equivalent knowledge with a minimum of five years' experience. Skills and knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, NEC, computer systems, and programming. Thoroughly proficient with Allen Bradley PLC's and ladder logic programming. Competency across platforms ranging from Micrologix, SLC500, PLC5, and Contrologix. Maintain and update skillset with technical advances relevant to the company and industry. Good interpersonal skills to work with internal and external personnel to identify and resolve problems relating to production and projects. Must be self-directed and require minimum supervision and guidance.
