Job Title:
Electrical Engineer II
Position location is open to hire in St Paul, MN, Clonmel, Ireland or Valencia, CA
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Responsible for the development and qualification of Magnetics and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components. This responsibility includes working with Supplier Quality engineers, Manufacturing engineers, and Design engineers to ensure that component specifications are clear/complete/cost-effective and to validate that vendor/component has high capability to meet specifications repeatedly.
Excellent project management skills are a must. Ability to influence is vital.
Analytical and core engineering capabilities required.
Good understanding of statistical methods and six sigma methodology is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
- Documents electrical development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
- Tracks electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
- Solves engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
- Analyzes, evaluates, verifies, requirements, circuits, and systems by using engineering practices.
- Investigates, researches, selects electronic circuits, components, tools, equipment and practices.
QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable:
- Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
- Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
Education and Experience, or Equivalent
BSEE, BSME or Bioengineering degree required. 2-4 Years with BS, 0-2 Years with MS
Understanding and experience within a Regulated environment and the importance of the Quality system to foster statistical process control, LTPD sampling plans, etc.
Experience with component selection, component qualification, electronic measurement systems, Gage R/R, DOEs, and device level testing.
